Emi & J's Story
The collaborations of Emi & J first began when Emi was in preschool. She would often come home with a new creature invention, a drawing, and a silly name. The two of us would embark on a journey about the creature’s appearance, its personality, its likes and dislikes, where it lived, on and on. Together over countless hours we would bring her imaginative creatures to life. These moments were such a delight and will be forever cherished.
As Emi grew over the years, along with her love of illustrating anime style animals and characters, I simultaneously continued to refine my ceramics studio. We first merged her playful and adorable drawings with handcrafted ceramics for her school’s holiday market. The positive reception from our joint endeavor ignited a pursuit in a collaboration of art and design.
We are a mother-daughter duo and are excited to share our creations reflecting the love and respect for the animals of our planet, our furry companions, and anything too cute. Each piece is brought to you from the imagination of Emi and meticulously handcrafted and fired in our ceramics studio in Portland, Oregon.

Materials used are either midrange stoneware clay or porcelain, fired between cone 5-6.
Glazes used for dinnerware are food, microwave, and dishwasher safe.

All sales are final. Items are handmade, variations occur and are expected. There will be slight variation in color, shape and size. All items are inspected and tested before shipping. No refunds or exchanges will be excepted unless an item arrives damaged. Please contact me within 48 hours and include photographs showing the condition of the shipping box and damaged item.
