Tides of Tranquility - Through the expressive interplay of flowing lines, this piece invites quiet contemplation while emphasizing the beauty found in simplicity. This handbuilt porcelain vase decoration was created using a technique called Mishima, a traditional Japanese method of inlaying contrasting colored porcelain slip into a porcelain body before the clay is fired. After the colored slip dries, it is then scraped off the surface to reveal the inlay design.
